PGA Pro Shop At Cove Cay Country Club

Bill Armstrong is the Cove Cay Country Club Golf Pro. Originally from Albany, New York Bill had not planned on becoming a Golf Pro like most Pro’s do from a young age. Although he enjoyed playing the game it wasn’t until he was working at the Don Cesar and was asked by the General Manager to play in a pro tournament that Bill began to excel.

His first time back on the course in many years and he shot a 77! It was then that he decided to take the game seriously. Just a short 60 days later he took his PGA player ability test and passed on the first attempt, a feat accomplished by only 8% of the players who take it.

He finished in the top of his class at every level of his PGA studies, and works hard today to ensure that his assistant professionals have the support they need to succeed in the PGA. This could be why Bill has twice been nominated for the PGA’s Bill Strausburg award for helping mentor future professionals.

Bill is very much a people person and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all of Cove Cay’s members and guests. He has been with us for 14 years now and is the longest active employee on property. We intend to keep it that way.

The Pro Shop at Cove Cay offers a wide selection of golf balls for sale, including FootJoy, Titleist, and Cobra. Of course, you can always opt for good “used” balls as well. Custom clubs are designed to the individuals golfers’ specs, upon request, and there is a complete repair service offered for your clubs. There is always a nice selection of clothing available, with fashionable looks for men and women.
